Casino is an epic crime drama about the rise and fall of Sam “Ace” Rothstein (Robert De Niro), a high-roller who’s pulled into a world of corrupt business deals, union corruption and mob infiltration. The movie also features a dazzling cast of characters, from Sharon Stone’s gorgeous blonde hustler Ginger McKenna to Joe Pesci’s dangerous Santoro. While some of the film’s scenes are over-the-top – such as the torture of a bettor with a vice and the death of De Niro’s character by car bomb – Scorsese was not afraid to show violence for its own sake, nor did he hold back on depicting the complex web of corruption that enveloped Las Vegas at the time.

Casinos rely heavily on security to prevent cheating, theft and other forms of malfeasance. Dealers and pit bosses are highly trained to watch for blatant tricks such as palming, marking or switching cards. Marketing needs to address all these areas and target the right demographics. For example, a casino that partners with e-sports teams or a virtual reality platform can reach a younger audience than it might attract through traditional advertising methods. It is also important to stay on top of the event trends that are shaping the industry so that the casino can make the most of these opportunities.
