Poker is a card game that mixes skill with luck. It also requires the ability to read opponents, predict odds, and make big bluffs.

Poker ranks hands by their odds (probability). Standard poker hands include a full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, and two pair. In a flush, any 5 cards of the same suit skip around in rank; a straight contains 5 cards of consecutive rank from the same suit; and three of a kind contains 3 cards of one rank and 2 cards of another rank.

Check: If a player does not want to bet, they can check the pot. The person left of the player who checked can then raise and add to the betting pool.

Call: If a player raises, the person left of them must say “call” or “I call” to match the bet and place money in the pot. The last person to raise or bet can then fold.

The last person to act in a hand can be anyone who is sitting at the table, or the dealer. If a player acts out of turn, they will cause the other players to lose their chips.
